"If only I had utilized Bathcoat" Hi Bill! I have a bathtub story to tell you that I am going through right now - you are welcome to use this story if you find it useful: Several months ago, I discovered a crack in our upstairs vinyl bathtub. Just a small crack, but of course I was concerned about possible water leakage, so I did my best to seal it over because it was not in a noticeable spot, and I hoped it wouldn't need any repair. A couple of weeks later, I discovered a small amount of water damage in the ceiling downstairs, directly below my tub, so I realized that the crack in the tub was actually leaking and would need to be corrected. I had never heard of the Bathcoat option at the time, so after speaking to the repair contractor, we went shopping for a new tub and surround. Found a nice one and ordered it (simply ordered the one that seemed most similar to my old one) When the tub arrived, we discovered we couldn't fit the surround through the bathroom door, and there was no way for the workers to get in behind it to install it properly. It also had to come through the kitchen and couldn't fit through the kitchen door either. So the contractor took both of the doorways apart to make them wide enough, and also removed a big piece of the wall behind the tub, which happened to be the wall of my son's bedroom. The workers also had to remove the toilet, and the window frame behind it, and even had to temporarily remove a small cupboard in the kitchen in order to get that tub into place - what a mess! Finally, after what seemed like months, we got the tub into place, the doorways all got restored to their original state, the walls got put back together (In my son's room, there were shelves that had to be taken down and then put back up, and his stuff was scattered all over the place the whole duration of the job - there just wasn't anyplace to put things!) Then, we discovered that the new tub was not the same dimensions as the old tub, and a part of the subfloor was exposed! Now we needed to replace the entire floor!!! As of today, they have finally put the toilet back in place, but the window frame, the baseboards, the baseboard heater, the shower doors, are all still sitting here waiting to be put back together. Our new floor is lovely, but it doesn't match the floors in the rest of the house - that style was no longer available! Sometimes weeks go by between visits from the contractors, they are so busy. I had no idea when we started that my entire home was going to be in such a state of chaos for so many weeks. If only I had utilized a Bathcoat procedure instead! It would have saved me so much grief! Comparing costs would be interesting too - we had so many extra costs in addition to the simple price of a new bathtub. I still don't know what this is going to end up being, there seems to be some new complication every time the contractor comes by! If I ever have a problem like this again in my life, I will be finding a Bathcoat contractor - fortunately for me, this wasn't our only bathroom, otherwise it would have been a real nightmare to have our bathroom not working with four teenagers in the house! I hope you will be able to save a lot of people from the bad experience we have had! Good luck with your business, and good for you, finding something that will be so valuable to so many people.
